To go along with the recent “Talk It Out” section, here are images and information of Rock Band 3 from the press release. Enjoy.

The Most Music. Period.
The Rock Band 3 disc soundtrack contains 83 of the best bands from around the world, including bands that have never appeared in a music game, as well as support for existing Rock Band tracks (Rock Band and Rock Band 2 discs, downloaded songs, track packs, AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack and Green Day: Rock Band).
Additionally, Rock Band 3 will give players immediate access to a music library approaching 2,000 songs by launch, with new content added weekly. Rock Band’s gigantic music library dwarfs that of Guitar Hero® or any other music game on the market.
Redesigned Library for Better Music Management: Create and save set lists, and share them with your friends online. Improved song sorting makes it easier to find the songs you like – and hide the songs you don’t. Song recommendation system will recommend new songs for you based upon those you already like to play.
Continued DLC Releases: Harmonix will continue their promise to publish new DLC for fans every week. Tracks released post-launch of Rock Band 3 will contain some functionality based on newly introduced features.
New Storyline: Rock Band 3 maps out a linear narrative that players’ bands will explore throughout the game, punctuated by key moments and vignettes that take them from dive bars to the big time, and beyond. Players’ stylized characters will be featured not just during gameplay but also in animated narrative vignettes outside of gameplay. As the band gains new levels of status, the environment will change from streets and subways to tour stops and venues, on the way to stardom.
New Navigation: The new “overshell” makes the Rock Band gaming experience easier than ever. The overshell menus manage Rock Band logistics for each individual member of the band, allowing players to drop in or out, modify their gameplay options (including difficulty and no fail), choose a character and sign in or out of a profile without affecting other players in the session.
Drop-In and Drop-Out: Rock Band 3 keeps the party moving with drop-in and drop-out options. At any point during gameplay, any player can join or leave a session, allowing players of differing difficulties to get into the game quickly and easily, from any screen.
Get Social: Rock Band 3 adds a suite of social networking tools to the game, so fans can interact with their friends over Facebook, Twitter and more.
Expand the Band – Keyboard and Harmony Vocals: In addition to guitar, bass, drums, and solo voice, Rock Band 3 introduces three-part vocal harmonies and, for the first time ever, keyboard! Up to 7 players can play together for the ultimate social gaming experience!
Play Just For Fun … or Get Serious: Casual player? Rock Band 3 has great new party modes for quick rocking sessions with friends. Serious player? A whole new universe of challenges awaits. The revamped Career Mode sets your band on a path to conquer the world, chasing 700+ goals and rewards. Pro Modes take instrumental gameplay to the next level of sophistication. And seamless leaderboard integration keeps you always aware of how your skills are stacking up against your friends’.
Keyboards: Keyboard gameplay adds a whole new element for Rock Band bands to master! With an awesome new two-octave keyboard controller, bands can add keys to the mix in either solo mode or with a full band. Gameplay is available for the traditional Rock Band five-key representational mode (“keys”) or pitch-accurate Pro mode (“Pro keys”), which lets players experience the challenge and reward of playing along with real keyboard parts until they’ve mastered them on expert!
Go Pro: Take your passion for music to the next level with new special guitar, bass, keyboard or electronic drum controllers (sold separately). “Rock Band Pro” lets you further develop your musical skills through gameplay! Pro Drums supports three expansion cymbals for more accurate drum set simulation by gameplay differentiation between toms and cymbals. Pro Keys features pitch-accurate keyboard performance. Pro Guitar – the flagship of the Rock Band Pro initiative – features realistic guitar and bass performance, utilizing either the new Fender™ Mustang™ PRO-Guitar™ simulated guitar controller from Mad Catz or the Rock Band 3 Squier Stratocaster real guitar/controller hybrid that is being developed by Fender and Harmonix.
Play in the game, rock in the real world!
Rock Band 3 Wireless Keyboard: A new two-octave keyboard that contains on-board console controls for easy navigation, accommodates stand-up or sit-down playing styles, and can be used as a fully functional MIDI keyboard controller. The keyboard fully supports Rock Band Pro keyboard features. An optional keyboard stand will be sold separately.
Rock Band 3 Fender™ Mustang™ PRO-Guitar™ Controller: A new, wireless guitar controller that features accurate simulation of 6 strings and 17 frets with a button based neck, along with a strum area that allows discrete picking of each string. The controller fully supports Rock Band Pro guitar features, and allows for realistic simulation of both left and right hand guitar actions. The Fender Mustang PRO-Guitar is a full functionality MIDI controller.
Rock Band 3 PRO-Cymbals™ Expansion Kit: Ships with three, new cymbal controllers that are re-engineered for quiet operation and fully support Rock Band Pro drum features. The Rock Band 3 cymbals are dramatically improved from the Rock Band 2 cymbals, offering quieter sound and better feel and responsiveness, and will also be included with the Rock Band 3 PRO-Drum and PRO-Cymbal Kit.
Rock Band 3 MIDI PRO-Adapter™: Use real MIDI keyboards or MIDI drum sets to play Rock Band 3. The Rock Band 3 MIDI PRO-Adapter converts MIDI messages into console controller data and includes on-board console navigation buttons.
Compatibility: Rock Band 3 will be compatible with all Rock Band and The Beatles: Rock Band peripherals, as well as most Guitar Hero® and third-party instrument and microphone controllers.
Keyboard Compatibility: Keyboard controllers can be used to play not just keyboard parts, but also guitar and bass parts (non-Pro). Similarly, guitar controllers can be used to play keyboard parts (non-Pro). No need to constantly switch peripherals to play your favorite instrumental part during the game.
